Residential burglary in Prestonpans

According to an article published on 24 February 2026 by Edinburghlive, police in East Lothian are investigating a break-in at a private home in Prestonpans. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 22 February, between 2am and 3am at a property on Suthren Yett.

Edinburghlive reports that four men on Sur-Ron electric motorbikes broke into the residence and stole a five-figure sum of cash. During the incident, a vehicle parked at the property was also vandalized. Following the break-in, the suspects fled the scene on their e-bikes in the direction of Jim Bush Drive.

Detective Inspector Keith Sinclair has issued an appeal for information, specifically requesting dash-cam or personal footage from anyone in the area at the time. Authorities are working to trace the four men and the electric bikes involved. Those with information are encouraged to contact the police quoting incident number 0842 of 22 February 2026, or to reach out to Crimestoppers anonymously.
