Residential burglary in Sneyd Green

According to an article published by Stokesentinel on 11 March 2026, a residential burglary occurred in Hanley Road, Sneyd Green. The incident took place on 6 January, while the homeowner was in the process of moving out of the property.

Stokesentinel reports that 32-year-old Christopher Heath, who is of no fixed address, forced entry into the house. The perpetrator stole a 65-inch television valued at ยฃ700. The victim discovered the theft upon returning to the property at 11pm, noting that the front and back doors had been accessed and a small window was left open.

Forensic evidence, specifically DNA found on a window frame, linked Heath to the scene. Although he initially denied involvement, Heath later pleaded guilty to burglary at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court. The court heard that the defendant, who has 18 previous convictions, was under the influence of drugs at the time and claimed to have entered the property to seek shelter from the cold. He was subsequently sentenced to nine months in prison.

Ensure all doors and windows are securely locked, even when a property is temporarily unoccupied during a move.
