High-value theft reported in South Ayrshire

According to an article published by Stv on 13 March 2026, police are appealing for information following a burglary at a remote private home in South Ayrshire. Stv reports that the incident occurred around 6pm on Tuesday, 25 February, at a property located near the B739, between Tarbolton and Monkton.

Stv states that jewellery and clothing with an estimated value of £300,000 were stolen during the break-in. Investigators believe the property was specifically targeted for its remote location and that two males were involved, who likely required a vehicle to facilitate the theft. Detectives have since reviewed local CCTV and conducted enquiries in the area.

Detective Sergeant Davie Gillies of Ayr CID is urging anyone who witnessed suspicious activity or vehicles in the vicinity, or those with relevant dash cam footage, to contact the authorities. Information can be provided by calling 101, quoting reference 3693 of 24 February 2026.

Homeowners are encouraged to enhance their property security by installing high-quality alarm systems and motion-activated lighting to deter unauthorized access.
