Daylight burglary reported in Bilston

According to an article published by Edinburghlive on 27 February 2026, Midlothian police have launched a manhunt following a burglary at a private home in Bilston. The incident occurred at Gardyveen Court on Friday, 20 February, between 11.45am and 12.30pm.

During the raid, a quantity of jewelry worth a five-figure sum was stolen. Investigators have noted that a white Peugeot van was seen in the vicinity of Gardyveen Court around the time of the housebreaking. Detective Constable Jamie Donaldson has requested that local residents review private CCTV footage and dash-cam recordings for any information that may assist the ongoing investigation.

Police Scotland is urging anyone with information to contact them on 101, quoting incident number 1440 of 20 February 2026. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
