Police appeal following Cookstown burglary

According to an article published on 14 March 2026 by Belfastlive, the PSNI has launched an investigation following a burglary at a private residence in the Rathmore area of Cookstown. The incident was reported to police at approximately 9:00 pm on Wednesday, March 11, after the resident returned home to find their property had been targeted.

Belfastlive reports that officers observed the back door of the house had been smashed to gain entry. Inside, multiple rooms were disturbed, and a quantity of jewellery and personal items were stolen. Authorities believe the burglary occurred sometime between 11:30 am and 9:00 pm that day.

Detectives are now appealing for anyone with information or who may have witnessed suspicious activity to contact the police on 101, quoting reference 1714 11/03/26. Ensuring all points of entry are properly secured and installing motion-activated lighting can help deter unauthorized access to your home.
