Retail shop burglarized in Gloucester

Burglary at a retail shop in Gloucester

According to an article published by Gloucestershirelive on 24 March 2026, a retail shop in the Gloucester docks area was targeted by burglars. The incident, which occurred during the night of 21 February, involved three masked individuals who used a crowbar to smash through a door and window to gain entry to the premises.

Gloucestershirelive reports that the intruders stole up to £25,000 worth of Pokémon cards. The shop owner, Ben Powell, expressed concerns regarding the safety of his staff and the psychological impact of the break-in. He noted that the business has since implemented additional security measures and has decided to no longer stock high-value card games on the premises.

The owner stated that he is aware of several other similar burglaries targeting shops since Christmas. Gloucestershire Constabulary has been approached for comment regarding the investigation into the incident.

Business owners are encouraged to review their security protocols, including the use of monitored alarm systems and reinforced entry points, to help deter potential intruders.
