Reward offered after reported burglary of firearms at Muncie Rural King

MUNCIE, Indiana — Federal and local authorities are seeking the public's assistance and offering a reward following a commercial burglary at a Muncie Rural King store where multiple firearms were stolen.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours, according to investigators. Suspects gained unauthorized entry into the Rural King store located in Muncie and targeted the gun department. Multiple firearms, including handguns and long guns, were reported stolen from the display cases. The Muncie Police Department is working in coordination with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) to investigate the heist.

To encourage community members to come forward, a cash reward has been authorized for any information that leads to the identification, arrest, and conviction of those responsible for the break-in, as well as the recovery of the stolen weapons. Law enforcement officials emphasize that stolen firearms pose a significant threat to public safety, as they often end up in the hands of prohibited persons and are used in subsequent crimes.
