Investigation into Penicuik robbery

According to an article published by the Scotsman on 24 December 2025, detectives are appealing for information following a robbery and assault in Penicuik. The incident occurred on the afternoon of Tuesday, 23 December, near the entrance to a car park on St Kentigern Way.

The Scotsman reports that personal items and a three-figure sum of cash were stolen during the encounter. No medical treatment was required for the victim. Police have provided descriptions of two male suspects: one is estimated to be 30 to 35 years old and was wearing an orange hi-vis jacket, while the second is described as 35 to 40 years old, wearing a black jumper with white and red writing and jeans.

Detective Constable Garry Mauran has requested that anyone who witnessed the incident or possesses relevant dash-cam footage contact Police Scotland. Information can be provided by calling 101, quoting incident 2073 of 23 December 2025, or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
