Police search for suspects following Shinfield robbery

According to an article published on 5 April 2026 by Readingchronicle, a Co-Op store located in School Green, Shinfield, was targeted in a robbery on the evening of Saturday, 4 April. Thames Valley Police were called to the scene at approximately 7:10 pm following reports of the incident.

Readingchronicle reports that the offenders had already fled the premises by the time officers arrived. A police helicopter was deployed to assist in the search for the suspects, but no arrests have been made at this time. During the raid, a quantity of cigarettes was stolen, and the offenders unsuccessfully attempted to force open the till.

A police cordon was established at the store to allow forensic teams to examine the scene for evidence, though the cordon has since been removed.
