Robbery Suspect Dies Following Police Shooting and Patrol Car Collision in Pueblo

PUEBLO, Colo. — An investigation is underway after a robbery suspect was fatally injured during an encounter with the Pueblo Police Department. The incident, which involved both gunfire and a patrol vehicle collision, occurred in early June.

According to police reports and coroner details, officers responded to a robbery in progress when they encountered the suspect. During the confrontation, the suspect pulled out a firearm, leading officers to discharge their weapons. In the chaos of the encounter, the suspect was also struck by a responding police patrol vehicle.

The Pueblo County Coroner later identified the deceased suspect. The officers involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave pending a multi-agency review of the use of force, which is standard procedure in officer-involved shootings. Investigators are currently reviewing body camera footage and dispatch logs to reconstruct the exact sequence of events.
