Robbery Suspect Shot and Killed in Midtown Houston After Shooting at Gas Station Clerk

HOUSTON, Texas — A violent attempted robbery in Midtown Houston ended in a fatal shooting on June 11, 2025, after a suspect was shot and killed during a confrontation, following an exchange of gunfire with a convenience store employee.

According to the Houston Police Department and reports from FOX 26 Houston, the incident began when armed individuals entered a Midtown gas station with the intent to commit a robbery. Surveillance video obtained by investigators shows the suspects brandishing firearms and opening fire at the store clerk behind the counter. The clerk, defending the business and themselves, returned fire or local security intervened in the exchange.

One of the suspected robbers was struck by gunfire during the shootout and was pronounced dead at the scene. Other suspects involved in the incident managed to escape before police patrol units arrived. Homicide detectives are currently reviewing the security video to identify the remaining suspects and trace their escape route. The gas station clerk was not reported to have sustained life-threatening injuries during the encounter. The investigation is ongoing as police continue to search for the outstanding individuals involved in the attempted heist.
