Rochester Man Accused of Burglarizing Mayo Field Baseball Stadium
ROCHESTER, Minn. โ A local resident is facing felony burglary charges after allegedly breaking into Mayo Field, a prominent baseball stadium and community landmark in Rochester.
Police were dispatched to the stadium after staff members noticed signs of forced entry and reported items missing from the facility, including concession supplies and team merchandise. Surveillance footage captured a male suspect entering restricted areas of the stadium during the late-night hours.
Following a brief investigation, officers identified and located the suspect, a Rochester resident. He was taken into custody without incident. The suspect has been charged with third-degree burglary and possession of burglary tools.
Mayo Field, which serves as the home field for the Rochester Honkers of the Northwoods League, has implemented additional security measures in response to the break-in. Local authorities are investigating whether the suspect might be linked to other recent commercial or public facility burglaries in the area.
