Savannah Man Shot After Pointing Gun at Officer During Convenience Store Robbery

On the night of October 1, 2023, a robbery took place at Parker’s Kitchen, located at 106 E. 37th St. in Savannah, Georgia. The suspect, later identified as a local man, entered the convenience store and demanded money from the cash register. The suspect was armed with a handgun and attempted to flee the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

As the suspect exited the store, he encountered a Savannah police officer who had responded to the scene. The suspect pointed his gun at the officer, who then fired his weapon, striking the suspect. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The officer was unharmed. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is currently investigating the incident.
