Scarborough business community urged to stay vigilant after overnight chicken shop robbery

A local chicken shop in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, became the target of an overnight robbery, prompting its owner to appeal to the community for greater vigilance and mutual support.

The break-in occurred during the early hours of the morning when the premises were closed. Intruders managed to gain entry to the property, causing significant damage before making off with cash and other items from the till. The shop owner, speaking after the incident, expressed deep concern over the vulnerability of local independent businesses to overnight crimes.

“We need to look out for one another,” the owner stated, emphasizing that security and community awareness are critical to preventing such incidents.
