Scranton Man Charged with First-Degree Murder Following Fatal Robbery Shooting
SCRANTON, Pennsylvania โ A Scranton man is facing grave legal consequences after being charged with first-degree murder and related offenses in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred during an attempted robbery, prosecutors and local authorities announced.
The charges stem from an incident where police were dispatched to the scene of a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim suffering from severe gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate efforts of emergency medical responders and hospital staff, the victim succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead. Investigators quickly determined that the shooting occurred in the course of an armed robbery, elevating the severity of the investigation to a homicide case.
Scranton Police detectives, working alongside county prosecutors, conducted a thorough investigation that involved interviewing multiple eyewitnesses, reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses, and analyzing forensic evidence collected at the scene.
