Scranton Man Faces Charges for Shooting Two Victims During Armed Robbery

SCRANTON, Pennsylvania — A Scranton man has been arrested and hit with multiple felony charges after allegedly shooting two people during an armed robbery, Scranton Police Department representatives announced. The double shooting, which took place in a residential area of the city, left both victims hospitalized with serious injuries.

According to police reports, the suspect confronted the two victims with a firearm, demanding their valuables. During the altercation, the suspect discharged the weapon multiple times, striking both victims before fleeing the scene. Nearby residents who heard the gunshots immediately contacted 911. First responders arrived quickly, administering life-saving first aid before transporting the wounded individuals to a local trauma center, where they remain in stable but serious condition.

Scranton Police detectives initiated a rapid search, collecting shell casings, interviewing neighbors, and utilizing area security camera footage to trace the suspect's movements. Within hours of the shooting, officers executed a search warrant at a city residence, leading to the arrest of the suspect. A firearm matching the caliber of the weapon used in the shooting was also recovered during the search.

The suspect has been charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, robbery, and carrying a firearm without a license. He is currently being held at the Lackawanna County Prison.
