Security Guard Assaulted During Armed Robbery at Murfreesboro Credit Union

MURFREESBORO, Tennessee — An intensive investigation is underway in Murfreesboro after a group of armed suspects robbed a local credit union and assaulted an on-duty security guard.

According to the Murfreesboro Police Department, the incident took place on April 8, 2026, when several suspects entered the credit union building. The suspects, who were armed and had their faces covered, immediately confronted the security guard on duty. During the encounter, the suspects assaulted the guard before proceeding to demand cash from the bank tellers.

After securing an undisclosed amount of money, the suspects fled the building. The injured security guard was treated at the scene by emergency medical services, and authorities have confirmed that the injuries, while serious, are non-life-threatening. No customers or credit union employees were physically harmed during the encounter.

Detectives are currently reviewing surveillance footage from both inside and outside the facility and are asking the public for assistance. Anyone who observed suspicious individuals or vehicles in the vicinity of the credit union around the time of the robbery is urged to contact the police immediately.
