Series of High-Profile Incidents and Arrests at Macon Sporting Goods Stores

MACON, Georgia — Sporting goods retailers in the Macon area have recently been the targets of a series of dramatic security incidents and major thefts, leading to multiple arrests by the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.

The first significant incident occurred on December 9, 2024, when a 39-year-old man barricaded himself inside a Macon sporting goods store during an attempted burglary.
