Residential burglaries under investigation in East Lothian

According to an article published on 6 April 2026 by Edinburghlive, police in East Lothian are investigating a series of residential burglaries. Authorities report that jewellery and watches worth thousands have been stolen from multiple homes across the region.

Edinburghlive reports that investigators believe the same individuals are responsible for the incidents. The first burglary occurred on Gosford Road, Longniddry, between 14 and 28 February, resulting in the theft of jewellery valued at a four-figure sum. Subsequent incidents took place on Hill Road and West Links Road in Gullane between 7 and 23 March, where items worth a five-figure sum were taken from each property.

Detective Constable Arron McCall stated that the perpetrators appear to have targeted the homes while occupants were away. Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage and conducting door-to-door enquiries. Officers are requesting that anyone with relevant dash-cam or doorbell footage, or information regarding suspicious vehicles in these areas, contact the police via 101, quoting incident number 3588.
