Shop burglary and assault in Potters Bar

Armed robbery at Potters Bar shop

According to the Watfordobserver, a burglary occurred at the Candie Stop on Broadway in Potters Bar on June 13, 2026. At approximately 4:30 p.m., a man entered the store and threatened a female shop assistant with a knife while demanding cash from the till.

A male shop assistant challenged the offender, resulting in an altercation during which the employee sustained cuts to his arms. He received treatment from paramedics at the scene. The suspect fled the location with a quantity of cash.

Hertsmere Police have described the suspect as having dark facial hair and wearing a blue face mask, a grey Under Armour hoodie, black Adidas tracksuit bottoms with a white stripe, gloves, and white trainers. Detective Sergeant Krisztina Gulyas stated that the investigation is ongoing and authorities are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage from the area to come forward.
