Robbery investigation in Bishops Waltham

According to an article published on 31 December 2025, a shop located on the High Street in Bishops Waltham was targeted during a series of robberies. Portsmouth reports that a man, Steven Kearney, has been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery following incidents that occurred between 26 and 29 December.

According to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, a male armed with a hammer entered multiple stores, threatened staff, and stole tobacco products. The Bishops Waltham Co-Op was among eight businesses affected by this crime spree, which also included locations in Hamble, Nursling, Hedge End, and Southampton.

Following police enquiries and the identification of a vehicle, five individuals were arrested on 29 December. While Kearney has been remanded in custody to appear at Southampton Crown Court on 20 January, four other individuals have been released on bail as the investigation continues.

Business owners are encouraged to review their security protocols and ensure staff are trained on emergency response procedures to enhance workplace safety.
