Armed robbery at a shop in Henleaze
According to an article published by Bristolpost on 14 January 2026, Avon and Somerset Police have launched an investigation following a robbery at a shop in the Henleaze area of Bristol. The incident occurred at approximately 6:20am on Wednesday, 17 December, when a man threatened a shop worker with a knife and demanded cash and merchandise.
Bristolpost reports that the suspect stole a quantity of cash and several boxes of cigarettes before fleeing the scene. Although the shop worker was physically unharmed, police have acknowledged the significant psychological impact of the event. The suspect is described as white, approximately 5ft 11ins tall, and was seen wearing a dark navy hooded coat, navy jogging bottoms, black clothing, and a face covering, while carrying a blue Ikea bag.
Officers have conducted extensive CCTV and house-to-house enquiries. Detectives are urging anyone with information, including doorbell or dashcam footage from the area at the time, to contact the police quoting reference number 5225353510, or to report information anonymously via Crimestoppers.
Business owners are encouraged to review their security protocols and ensure that staff are trained on safety procedures during emergency situations.
