According to an article published by Leicestermercury on 24 July 2025, Leicestershire Police are appealing for information following a robbery at a shop in Mill Lane, Earl Shilton. The incident occurred shortly after 4pm on Thursday, June 19.

Leicestermercury reports that a shopkeeper, a man in his 70s, was threatened with a hammer by a suspect who subsequently stole his mobile phone. Although the victim was not injured during the encounter, police are actively seeking to identify a potential witness who was seen passing the premises at the time. The individual is described as a woman wearing a long, blue sleeveless top over black leggings.

Detective Constable Roseanna Cockerill-Smith has urged the woman, or anyone else who was in the vicinity during the incident, to come forward. Information can be provided to the police by calling 101, quoting reference 25*356995, or anonymously through Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
