Six Suspects Steal $51,000 in Jewelry from Destiny USA Mall Kiosk

SYRACUSE, New York — Syracuse police are searching for six suspects captured on security video stealing $51,000 worth of jewelry from a retail kiosk inside the Destiny USA shopping mall on July 6, 2025. The high-value theft took place during regular mall operating hours, highlighting concerns over retail security at major shopping centers.

According to police reports, the six suspects worked in coordination to distract the kiosk employee and access the display cases containing premium jewelry pieces. Surveillance footage released by law enforcement shows the suspects surrounding the kiosk, shields or physical obstructions being used to block the employee's line of sight, and another suspect reaching into the showcase. In a matter of minutes, the group pocketed multiple high-value items and walked out of the mall.

Investigators are urging members of the public who recognize any of the individuals in the video to contact the Syracuse Police Department's criminal investigations division. Security at Destiny USA has been a focal point for local law enforcement, and officers are working with mall management to implement stricter oversight and deterrence strategies at open-air kiosks.
