Smash-and-Grab Burglary Devastates Adam's Jewelry Center in Chicago's Dunning Neighborhood
An early morning smash-and-grab burglary has left the owners of a long-standing Chicago business devastated. The incident occurred at Adam's Jewelry Center, located in the 3200 block of North Harlem Avenue in the city's Dunning neighborhood on the far Northwest Side.
Swift Break-In Captured on Video
Surveillance footage from the store captured the moment a sole burglar shattered the establishment's front glass door. Once inside, the suspect quickly moved to the display cases, smashing them open one by one to snatch high-value items, including luxury watches and fine jewelry. The entire heist was completed within minutes, demonstrating a calculated and rapid operation.
A Double Blow to a Longtime Local Business
This incident is not the only crime that has targeted Adam's Jewelry Center recently. Just weeks later, in March 2024, the store fell victim to a daring daytime robbery when individuals posing as customers jumped over the counters, snatched gold chains, and threatened employees. The combination of these traumatic events ultimately forced the owners to make the heartbreaking decision to close their business permanently after 30 years of serving the Dunning community.
Police Investigation Ongoing
Chicago police are investigating the burglary, analyzing security footage to identify the suspect. At this time, no suspects are in custody, and authorities are urging anyone with information about the break-in or the stolen merchandise to contact local detectives.
