Smash-and-Grab Crew Targets Chipotle, Tropical Smoothie, and Smashburger on Foster Avenue

CHICAGO, IL — A string of commercial break-ins has left business owners on Chicago's North Side on high alert after a group of burglars targeted multiple popular restaurants along Foster Avenue in a rapid series of smash-and-grab incidents.

According to authorities and surveillance footage obtained from the scene, the suspects targeted several adjacent establishments, including Chipotle, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Jimmy John's, and Smashburger. In each instance, the perpetrators used heavy objects to shatter the glass storefront doors or windows to gain swift access inside.

Once inside the businesses, the burglars focused almost exclusively on cash registers and safes, attempting to pry them open or carting them away entirely.
