South Phoenix Home Invasion Leaves Three Dead, Two Injured

PHOENIX, Arizona — A tragic and violent confrontation in a south Phoenix neighborhood has left three men dead and two others hospitalized with serious injuries following a suspected home invasion shooting on Tuesday afternoon, September 23, 2025.

Violent Shootout Near Southern Avenue

The incident occurred at a residence near the intersection of 24th Street and Southern Avenue. Phoenix Police officers escalated to the scene after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting active gunfire inside a home. When officers entered the home, they discovered a chaotic scene with multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

Three individuals were declared dead at the scene by emergency medical teams. Two other victims were stabilized and transported to a local trauma center. Their current medical conditions have not been disclosed, but police confirm they are receiving intensive medical care.

Investigation into Motive and Suspects

Homicide detectives have taken over the complex crime scene, working to determine the relationship between the individuals involved and what triggered the deadly confrontation. Neighbors reported hearing a barrage of rapid gunfire, followed by vehicles speeding away from the scene.

Police have not yet confirmed if the victims were the occupants of the home or the individuals attempting the invasion.
