Spartanburg Vape Shops Target of Recurring Burglaries as Police Seek Suspects

SPARTANBURG, South Carolina — Authorities in Spartanburg are warning local business owners after a series of commercial burglaries targeted area vape shops, resulting in the theft of cash and tens of thousands of dollars in merchandise.

The first major incident occurred on May 7, 2025, when thieves broke into a Spartanburg vape shop and made off with approximately $20,000 worth of premium products, including vaping devices, e-liquids, and accessories. Investigators noted that the break-in appeared planned and executed rapidly, indicating the perpetrators may have targeted specific high-value items.

A second break-in occurred on May 18, 2026, at another vape store in the Spartanburg area. In this incident, suspects gained entry and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the register along with cigarillos and other tobacco products. Police are analyzing security footage from both locations to determine if the burglaries are connected or the work of separate opportunistic groups.
