Spokane Valley Deputies Arrest Man for Power Tool Theft from Local Business

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Spokane Valley deputies have arrested a man accused of stealing professional-grade power tools from a local business. The arrest took place following a quick-response investigation that led to the recovery of the stolen inventory.

The incident occurred around June 12, 2025, when employees of a local commercial shop noticed several high-value power tools were missing from their inventory display. Surveillance footage captured a suspect loading the equipment into a vehicle before departing the scene. Deputies utilized the footage and vehicle description to track the suspect's whereabouts, locating both the individual and the stolen tools within hours.

Power tools are a frequent target for retail theft and commercial burglary due to their high resale value on the secondary market. "Recovering these tools and returning them to the business is a major win, as these thefts directly affect the livelihoods of local merchants," the Sheriff's Office stated in a press release.

The suspect was booked on charges of third-degree theft and possession of stolen property. He is scheduled to appear in Spokane County Court later this month.
