Police have arrested a suspect following a violent robbery at Saleem Jewellers on Roundhay Road, Leeds, which left a store employee injured and requiring hospital treatment.

The robbery took place on Monday, November 3, 2025. A group of suspects entered Saleem Jewellers on Roundhay Road and carried out a raid. During the course of the incident, a staff member sustained injuries while attempting to protect the store's stock or confront the thieves. Emergency services were immediately called to the scene, and the injured employee was transported to the hospital for treatment.
The suspects managed to flee the scene before police units arrived, sparking an intense search operation in the Roundhay and Harehills areas.
Swift Police Action and Arrest
Following a rapid investigation by Leeds CID, West Yorkshire Police announced on Wednesday, November 5, that an arrest had been made in connection with the robbery. The suspect is being questioned regarding both the theft and the assault on the staff member. Officers are continuing to track down other individuals believed to have been involved in the crime.

Detective Inspector heading the investigation urged local residents and business owners on Roundhay Road to check their security cameras or dashcam footage from Monday afternoon.
