Standoff Ends with Hostages Rescued and Suspect Charged in Arlington Heights

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — A peaceful Arlington Heights neighborhood became the site of a tense, hourslong standoff after an armed suspect invaded a local residence. The situation resolved with the successful rescue of two individuals from the home and the suspect being taken into custody.

Responding to a home invasion in progress, tactical officers surrounded the residence and worked to negotiate a safe resolution. After several tense hours, officers successfully entered the home and secured the occupants without injury. The suspect has since been charged with multiple felonies related to the home invasion.
