Stockport Man Jailed for Chester Petrol Station Burglary After Dropping Receipt

A Stockport man has been sentenced to prison following a commercial burglary at a Chester petrol station, after a dropped receipt led investigators straight to him.

The incident took place when the defendant forced entry into the petrol station convenience store overnight, stealing a variety of goods and cash. However, during the course of the break-in, the offender accidentally dropped a store receipt containing purchase details linked to his bank card.

Cheshire Police quickly tracked down the suspect using the transactional data from the receipt. In court, the prosecution detailed the evidence, leading to a swift conviction. The man has now been jailed for his role in the break-in, with local officers praising the diligent investigation that secured the conviction.
