Stolen Rolex leads to prison sentence for burglar in Yelling
Residential burglary investigation leads to conviction
According to an article published by Cambridgenews on 23 July 2025, a 38-year-old man has been sentenced to three years in prison following a series of burglaries. The investigation began when staff at a pawn shop contacted the police after the individual attempted to sell a Rolex watch valued at £9,200.
Cambridgeshire Police confirmed that the watch had been stolen during a residential burglary in Yelling in August 2023. Following the man's arrest at his home in Potton in December 2024, officers recovered additional gold jewellery and watches linked to a separate burglary in Little Eversden, as well as £4,000 in cash. The individual pleaded guilty to three counts of handling stolen goods at Luton Crown Court on 8 July 2025.
Detective Constable Ed Glasse stated that the recovery of these items is significant, noting the financial and sentimental value to the victims. Authorities emphasized that those involved in the handling of stolen property will face legal consequences.
Ensure your home is secure by installing high-quality locks and a monitored alarm system to deter potential intruders.
