Store Employees Sprayed with Mace During Commercial Robbery in Northeast Philadelphia

Employees at a retail store in Northeast Philadelphia were subjected to a chemical attack during a brazen commercial robbery. The incident, which unfolded during normal operating hours, has drawn a swift response from local police as they search for the suspects responsible.

Investigators state that the suspects entered the commercial establishment and quickly confronted the employees behind the counter. Without warning, the robbers deployed a canister of mace, spraying the chemical directly into the faces of the staff members to incapacitate them. The suspects then grabbed cash from the register and stole merchandise before running out of the store.

Medics arrived at the scene to treat the injured employees for chemical exposure, which caused temporary blindness and severe respiratory irritation. Philadelphia police are currently reviewing security video from the store and surrounding properties in an effort to identify the suspects.
