Summerlin Homeowner Acts in Self-Defense, Shooting Two Armed Intruders in Garage Confrontation
LAS VEGAS, NV โ A quiet evening in a Summerlin neighborhood erupted in gunfire when a homeowner successfully defended himself against two armed intruders. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) confirmed that the homeowner acted entirely in self-defense during the attempted armed robbery in his garage.
Ambushed in the Garage
The confrontation took place on December 23, 2025, at a residence in the 800 block of Haven Oaks Place. The homeowner told police he pulled into his driveway and noticed an unfamiliar black SUV idling nearby. After parking his vehicle inside the garage, he attempted to lower the garage door. Before the door could close, two men rushed inside. One of the suspects, armed with an AR-style rifle, pointed the weapon directly at the homeowner and demanded money.
Homeowner Fires in Self-Defense
Fearing for his life under the threat of the rifle, the homeowner drew his own legally carried handgun and fired several rounds at the suspects. Both intruders were struck by the gunfire, causing them to immediately flee the scene in the waiting black SUV. The homeowner was uninjured in the exchange and immediately called 911 to report the incident.
Suspects Hospitalized and Arrested
Shortly after the shooting, police were notified that two men, later identified as 29-year-olds Connor Davis and Arqua Jenkins, had arrived at a local emergency room seeking treatment for gunshot wounds. LVMPD officers responded to the hospital and took both suspects into custody. Davis and Jenkins face multiple felony charges, including attempted robbery with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery, and assault with a deadly weapon. The homeowner will not face any charges, as authorities ruled the shooting a clear case of lawful self-defense.
