Supermarket burglary in South Normanton

Police appeal following South Normanton supermarket break-in

According to an article published by Derbyshiretimes on 20 April 2026, Derbyshire Police are investigating a burglary at the Co-op supermarket located on Market Place in South Normanton. The incident took place at approximately 2.50am on Friday, April 17.

Derbyshiretimes reports that three men wearing dark clothing and face coverings arrived at the premises on a motorbike and a Surron bike. Two of the individuals used a power tool to gain entry to the store, subsequently stealing a significant amount of cash before fleeing the scene.

Authorities have released CCTV footage of the incident and are requesting assistance from the public to identify the suspects. Officers are specifically asking residents and business owners in the vicinity of the Co-op, Shiners Way, Market Place, and High Street to review any available CCTV or doorbell camera footage. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the police quoting incident number 26*218541.

Business owners are encouraged to regularly test their alarm systems and ensure that all entry points are reinforced to deter unauthorized access.
