Surveillance Video Captures Car Smashing Into Smyrna Pizza Place to Steal ATM

SMYRNA, Georgia — A local pizza restaurant in Smyrna became the latest target of a destructive smash-and-grab burglary early Wednesday morning. Surveillance video obtained by authorities captures the moments a vehicle was deliberately driven through the storefront to gain access to an in-store ATM.

Brazen Smash-and-Grab Captured on Camera

The incident occurred in the early hours of New Year's Day, 2025. The footage shows a vehicle reversing at high speed into the front entrance of the establishment, shattering the glass doors and causing significant structural damage to the building's facade. Within seconds of the crash, suspects can be seen entering the debris-filled restaurant and targetting the automated teller machine (ATM) located near the entrance.

According to the owners, the damage to the property is extensive, forcing a temporary closure during one of their busiest times of the year. The thieves managed to secure the ATM and load it into the vehicle before fleeing the scene before police could arrive.

Police Investigation Underway

Smyrna Police Department officials are actively investigating the incident. Detectives are reviewing the surveillance footage from the pizza place and surrounding businesses to identify the make and model of the suspect vehicle, as well as the individuals involved in the heist. Authorities have urged anyone with information regarding the burglary or suspicious vehicle activity in the area to contact investigators immediately.
