Surveillance Video Released as Hunt Continues for Crew in 15 Gurnee Business Burglaries

GURNEE, IL — The Gurnee Police Department has taken the step of releasing surveillance video footage to the public as they continue their intensive search for an organized crew of burglars. The suspects are linked to a massive commercial crime wave, having broken into 15 different businesses across the village of Gurnee.

A Widespread Commercial Crime Wave

The series of burglaries, which targeted a wide variety of retail stores, restaurants, and service businesses, has caused significant concern among the local business community. In each case, the crew operated with speed and coordination, breaking doors or windows to gain immediate access, sweeping the premises for cash and valuables, and fleeing before officers could arrive.

The newly released surveillance video shows multiple masked individuals moving efficiently through the targeted businesses. Detectives hope that someone will recognize the suspects' clothing, physical builds, gait, or the getaway vehicles utilized during the crime spree.

A Call for Public Assistance

“We are working around the clock to identify these individuals and hold them accountable,” a police spokesperson stated. Law enforcement is urging anyone who was in the commercial districts during the late-night or early-morning hours and noticed unusual activity to come forward. Business owners are also urged to review their security setups and remain vigilant.
