Suspect Named Following Violent Attempted Robbery Outside Chorley Restaurant

CHORLEY — A suspect has been identified and charged after a man was violently assaulted during an attempted robbery outside a restaurant in Chorley town centre, police officers have revealed.

The incident occurred in the evening when a member of the public was approached by an individual demanding personal belongings. When the victim refused, he was subjected to a physical assault before the assailant fled the scene empty-handed.

Suspect Identified and Charged

Detectives launched an immediate investigation, securing local surveillance footage and interviewing eyewitnesses who were dining nearby. Following these inquiries, police identified and named the suspect, who has now been taken into custody.

The victim received medical treatment for minor injuries sustained during the struggle and is currently recovering. Lancashire Police have thanked members of the public who stepped forward with crucial information that aided the rapid identification of the suspect.
