Suspected bike theft from St Albans shop sparks appeal

Hertfordshire Constabulary has released an image appeal following the suspected theft of a high-value bicycle from a retail shop in St Albans on February 13, 2026. The incident occurred during operating hours when a suspect managed to remove the bicycle from the showroom floor unnoticed.

The stolen bicycle is described as a premium model, and staff realized it was missing shortly after the suspect left the premises. Retailers in St Albans have been alerted to the incident, and police are working closely with the store management to review security camera footage from inside and outside the shop.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may recognize the bicycle or who was in the area and noticed suspicious behavior to come forward. If you have been offered a similar bike for sale recently online or in person, please contact the police immediately.
