Suspected Burglar Bleeds to Death Outside North Houston Home on Blue Bell Road

HOUSTON, Texas — An attempted break-in at a residence on Blue Bell Road in north Houston took a fatal turn on August 30, 2025, when a suspected burglar bled to death outside the property, police reported.

According to the Houston Police Department, the homeowner contacted 911 to report an ongoing break-in. Before officers arrived, the suspect apparently sustained a severe, self-inflicted cut or injury—possibly from broken glass while attempting to force entry into the home. When HPD units arrived, they discovered the male suspect unresponsive on the ground outside the house, bleeding heavily. Despite efforts from emergency medical personnel, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident also led to a secondary emergency. Two Houston Police officers who were en route to the burglary call were involved in a serious motor vehicle accident. The patrol vehicle crashed, resulting in injuries to both officers. They were transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation and are expected to recover. Investigators are looking into both the circumstances surrounding the break-in and the cause of the police cruiser collision.
