Suspected Burglar Shot by Homeowner During North Phoenix Break-In
PHOENIX, Arizona โ A north Phoenix homeowner shot a suspected burglar who was trying to force entry into a residential property early Sunday morning, November 9, 2025, according to authorities.
Early Morning Encounter Near Thunderbird Road
Phoenix Police Department officers responded to reports of a break-in and shooting near 40th Street and Thunderbird Road around 4:00 AM. According to investigators, a male suspect attempted to break into the home through a window. The homeowner, alerted by the sound of breaking glass, confronted the suspect and fired a weapon, striking the intruder.
The suspect fled the immediate scene but was located by officers nearby. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He remains in police custody under medical supervision and faces charges of burglary and trespassing upon release.
