Suspects at Large After Multi-Store Robbery Spree and Police Pursuit

AKRON, Ohio — A group of retail theft suspects remains at large after a targeted spree that struck four separate dollar stores in the Akron area. The suspects reportedly transitioned from simple shoplifting to robbery by utilizing force or threats against store employees during the thefts.

Akron police officers spotted the suspects' getaway vehicle shortly after the final robbery was reported. When officers attempted to perform a traffic stop, the driver initiated a high-speed pursuit through local streets, demonstrating a reckless disregard for public safety. Due to the high speeds and hazardous driving conditions, police supervisors ultimately terminated the active pursuit to mitigate risks to civilian motorists.

Investigators are working alongside store management to gather complete inventory assessments of the stolen items and secure clear security footage of the suspects. The police department is requesting that anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspects or the location of the vehicle used in the flee attempt contact them immediately.
