Suspects Dressed as Construction Workers Attempt Smash-and-Grab at NYC Jewelry Shop

A group of brazen robbers disguised as construction workers attempted a smash-and-grab heist at a New York City jewelry store, sparking alarm before fleeing empty-handed.

Police reports indicate that several men wearing high-visibility vests and hard hats entered the establishment during regular business hours, suddenly pulling out hammers in an attempt to shatter the display cases. Despite repeated heavy blows, the store's reinforced security glass held, preventing the suspects from accessing the high-value jewelry inside. Realizing their attempts were failing and that police were being summoned, the suspects quickly abandoned their plan and fled the store.

The New York City Police Department is reviewing security camera footage to identify the suspects, who ran from the scene in broad daylight.
