SUV Rammed Into Way-Ken Contractors Supply on West Belmont in Crash-and-Grab Theft

CHICAGO, IL — A Northwest Side specialty store was the target of a brazen crash-and-grab burglary early Wednesday morning, with surveillance footage capturing the moment thieves drove a vehicle directly through the shop's storefront.

The incident took place at Way-Ken Contractors Supply, located on West Belmont Avenue. Security cameras inside and outside the store recorded an SUV reversing at speed into the building's front entrance, shattering the metal security gate and brick columns to create a massive opening.

Once inside, multiple individuals can be seen quickly loading tools and other high-value equipment into the back of the vehicle before speeding away. The owner of the family-run business expressed shock at the level of destruction caused to the building. Chicago Police Department officers are investigating the incident and looking for the suspect vehicle, but no arrests have been announced yet.
