SWAT Sniper Shoots and Kills Attempted Bank Robber at Fort Myers Shopping Mall

FORT MYERS, FL — A tense standoff at a busy Fort Myers shopping mall ended Tuesday after a SWAT sniper shot and killed an attempted bank robber who had taken multiple hostages. Local law enforcement confirmed that all hostages were rescued safely and no bystanders or officers were injured during the operation.

The incident unfolded in the afternoon when an armed suspect entered the bank inside the shopping center. The suspect brandished a weapon, demanded cash, and claimed to be in possession of an explosive device.
