The Tynesider Bar in Gateshead Opens for Business Despite Break-in and Smash-and-Grab Theft

The popular Gateshead bar, The Tynesider, has remained open for business despite being targeted in a smash-and-grab burglary overnight. Intruders broke into the establishment by smashing a front window, causing significant damage to the storefront. Once inside, they targeted the bar area, stealing a selection of alcoholic drinks before fleeing the scene.

Rather than closing down for repairs, the resilient management and staff worked through the morning to clean up the shattered glass, board up the broken window, and prepare the venue for its normal opening hours. Customers rallied around the business, offering their support on social media and visiting the bar to show solidarity.
