Thief Steals $50K Worth of Pokémon Cards and Collectibles from Bellevue Storage Unit
BELLEVUE, WA — Bellevue police are investigating a specialized burglary at a local storage facility after a collector reported the theft of high-value Pokémon cards and rare merchandise valued at approximately $50,000. The incident occurred overnight, with the suspect targeting specific storage units containing collectible goods.
The victim, a long-time collector and vendor, discovered the break-in during a routine check of their storage locker. The padlock had been cut, and several boxes containing pristine condition trading cards, sealed booster boxes, and limited-edition merchandise were missing. The total estimated value of the stolen items makes it one of the largest collectible thefts reported in the area recently.
Detectives are reviewing security camera footage from the facility and examining access logs to identify anyone who entered the property around the time of the theft. Police have also alerted local card shops, pawn shops, and online marketplaces to look out for individuals attempting to sell large quantities of high-value cards without proper documentation.
The Bellevue Police Department urges anyone with information about the incident or who has noticed suspicious sales of trading cards in the region to contact their tip line. The investigation remains active as authorities work to recover the stolen collection.
