Thieves Escape with Cash Machine After Ram-Raid at Doncaster Co-op Supermarket

DONCASTER, South Yorkshire — Police have launched a major appeal for information after a gang of thieves targeted a village Co-op supermarket in Doncaster, using a vehicle to ram the storefront before escaping with a cash machine.

The dramatic overnight raid left the local supermarket in ruins. Dramatic photographs and video footage from the scene show the aftermath of the crash, with the front of the shop completely torn open, exposing structural pillars and leaving piles of rubble and metal framing strewn across the pavement. The area was immediately cordoned off by South Yorkshire Police officers as forensic specialists examined the scene.

According to reports, the perpetrators used a heavy vehicle to smash through the secure glass front of the Co-op store. Once inside, they managed to dislodge and remove the store's ATM before loading it onto another vehicle and fleeing the scene in the early hours of the morning.
