Thieves Smash Glass Doors to Steal Packages from Bridgeport Apartment Complex

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Residents of a Bridgeport apartment building are on high alert after thieves shattered the main entrance glass doors to gain entry and steal delivered packages from the lobby. The incident, which was caught on security cameras, has sparked concerns among tenants regarding building security and mail safety.

The building's property manager reported that the break-in occurred during the busy holiday delivery season on December 21, 2025. The suspects used a heavy object to break the glass door, bypassed the secure entry system, and cleared out numerous packages that had been left for residents by postal and private delivery services.

Bridgeport police are reviewing the surveillance footage, which shows at least two individuals wearing masks and hoods loading packages into large bags. Property management is currently working to reinforce the entryways and is discussing the installation of secure package lockers to protect resident deliveries from similar thefts in the future.

Authorities advise residents to track their deliveries closely and retrieve packages as soon as possible, or arrange for deliveries to secure drop-off locations to prevent opportunistic thefts.
